Gibran Khalil Gibran - The Oriental Master of Poetry

Date Added: October 04, 2007 06:26:06 AMPrevious    Next

In the mystics authors' gallery, the Lebanese poet Gibran Khalil Gibran is one of the Masters, just as the German Rilke. Extremely creative, Gibran can be considered not only a poet, but also a philosopher, and philosopher that flies in the skies of illuminate considerations. He writes, like this - as a magic man, as a African sorcerer! Your life was a dream in the occasion of your childhood: the storms and the mountains they were your enchantment! And a beautiful girl too! Your great love, however, in all your life, it was Jesus! Young, he picked flowers for Jesus! That love for Jesus was never a conventional love, a Catholic love, a religious love but, it was a pure love , of heart for heart, of soul for soul, of spirit for spirit - never maculate by any theological concept! That love, with certainty, is the love that is characterized for the freedom: he is not submissive to the point of view of any systematic faith. The love that is submissive to the point of view of any systematic faith – it is not love ( that is free), but, a conditional love that only is love if in accord with a specific doctrine. Gibran, besides, never liked the clergy! Jesus it was always your inspiration and your support! In the Holy Bible, the Prophets were messengers of the word of God! Gibran was also a messenger, and this is clear in your best book: mysterious, poetic, philosophical, wonderful - The Prophet! In another way, the poems written by Gibran, they are totally free, truly a poetic prose! Your images, however, they are of a beauty that doesn't have end! The poetic construction is made in Gibran starting from brilliant metaphors! Gibran Khalil Gibran: the oriental Master of the beautiful letters! The poet that never got married but that, dead, in your coffin, it took a flower as gift of a stranger woman, later identified: your great love of the childhood, that also got married never! What beautiful fidelity, not? It is a pleasure to speak of him for the friends readers, although I am not an erudite, but a simple admirer of transcendental poets. Bye-bye!
